Respecting rights

Organizations may upload only content they own or are licensed to use, including logos, photography, video, curriculum, and written material. Uploading a third party's work without permission violates our Terms of Use.

Filing a copyright notice

A notice sent to our designated agent must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • The exact address of the material on Christian.com you want removed.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken, you may send a counter-notice identifying the material, stating under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed in error, and consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court. We may restore the material after the statutory waiting period unless the original complainant files suit.

Trademark and impersonation

Report misuse of a name, logo, or ministry identity to [LEGAL CONTACT EMAIL] with the registration or common-law basis for your claim and the address of the listing. Impersonation of an organization is also handled as a Community Standards violation.

Repeat infringers and false claims

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated. Knowingly submitting a false takedown notice may expose you to liability, including costs and attorney fees.
